Smart Home Technology: QMotion releases ‘Qsync’ August 20th, 2013

PENSACOLA, Fla. Aug. 19, 2013 — Latest release from QMotion Advanced Shading Systems makes automatic window shades smarter than ever before. Qsync allows users to easily adjust their shades from a tablet or smart phone, controlling window shades without putting down the phone.

Qsync works with the QMotion app available in app stores today, transforming a smartphone or tablet into a functional transmitter for QMotion products.

•    Download the latest version of the software for iOs. Android coming soon.
•    Smartphone and tablet control from many units on the same Qsync network system.
•    Plug the Qsync into the network, and it sends QMotion commands as a standard transmitter would.
•    Use pictures and names to identify windows, groups or zones.
•    Create groups that can be controlled with the app together.
•    Control nearly 500 shades or groups from each Qsync.
•    Setup once on a single device, then the settings load to the other smartphones and tablets automatically.

The device, which retails for $588, easily integrates with existing QMotion shades. Once installed to a standard network router, users have only to download the free mobile app, currently available for iPhone and iPad and coming in September to the Android market.

Once downloaded, the app will allow users to operate individual shades from their mobile devices, or to combine shades into "groups" and "zones." The app can control more than 450 individual shades or groups, allowing for nearly limitless customization and control.

Users can even adjust different groups to varying positions simultaneously to create “scenes” at a truly custom level.

Qsync is only the latest brainchild of QMotion Incorporated, a company known for smart design and even smarter innovation. The company won the Window Covering Manufacturing Association award for "Best New Technological Innovation" in 2012 — for a system that significantly extends battery life and reduces noise. QMotion also created the first automated shade with a manual override option.

To download the Qsync app, just search for “QMotion” in the App Store. Company engineers plan to release the Android version in Sept. 2013, and to include even more features in future releases.
